संशोधन प्रकल्पाची पार्श्वभूमी :

कल्याण शहर हे एक मेट्रो सिटी म्हणून जरी ओळखीची नसली तरी आहे. इथल्या वेगवान होणाऱ्या डेवेलोप्मेंत्स मुले शहराच्या इतिहामुळे सगळ्यांच्या नजरेत मात्र नक्कीच आहे. एकदाचे आयुष्य खूप चांगले जाणवते. इकडे मुंबई सारखी प्रचंड नाही पण दरवळ नेहमीच असते म्हणून हे शहर खूप जिवंत वाटते. ठाणे जिल्ह्यातील दुसरे महत्वाचे असे हे शहर आहे. कल्याण ला खूप महत्व असून कल्याण भोवतालची अनेक छोटी मोठी गावे व शहरे बाजारपेठेसाठी कल्याणवर अवलंबून आहेत. त्यामुळे शहराची आर्थिक परिस्थितीही चांगली आहे. कल्याण हे एक एका रेसिदेन्तिअल अरिया सारखे आहे त्यामुळे गजबज मधेही संती वाटते. या शहरात सर्व बेसिक सोयी सुविधा उपलब्ध आहे . आपल्याला इकडे शोप्पिंग मौल, सिनेमा गृहे, हॉटेल्स, शाळा कॉलेग, वैदिकीय सुविधा सगळे उपलब्ध आहे. या शहरात एक वेगळे सामाजिक, राजकीय, सांस्कृतिक, आर्थिक, शैशिनिक वातावरण आहे. त्यामुळे ह्या वातावरणाच परिणाम सगळ्यांवर नक्कीच होतो. हे शहर म्हणावं कि गाव म्हणाव कि उपनगर माहित नाही कारण हे शहर खूप मोठ आहे पण आजूबाजूच्या गावांमुळे व शहराच्या सांस्कृतिक व ऐतिहासिक पार्श्वभूमीमुळे हे शहर गावासारखे वाटे पण खर तर हे खूप आयडियल असे उपनगर आहे. जिथे गावाच्या संस्कृतीचा व शहराच्या आत्य्धुनिक सेवा सुविधांचा एकदाच अनुभव घेता येतो.

पुकारच्या युथ फेलोशिप च्या माध्यमातून मागील काही वर्षे आम्ही आम्ही वेगवेगळ्या विषयांवर अभ्यास आणि संशोधन करत आहोत. त्यामध्ये कल्याण च्या इतिहास, युवकांचे मैत्री विषयाचे दृष्टीकोन, युवकांचे प्रेम विवाह बद्दलचे मत, युवकांवर होणारा मोबाईल चा परिणाम अश्या गेल्यावेळेस विषयांवर संशोधन केले आहे. ह्यावर्षी पुकार कडून अँडव्हान्स रिसर्च करायची संधी मिळाली आणि मग विषयाला शोधण्यास सुरुवात झाली. आमच्या मागील संशोधन प्रकाल्पन्मधे युवा हे आमचे मुख्य घटक होते आणि त्यामुले आम्हाला यूथ बाबद आमच्या कॉम्युनिटि कार्यक्रमांमुळे अधिक महिती मिळवता आली .या मागील प्रकाल्पन्मधे असे जाणवले की येथीस युवकांवर त्यांच्या संस्कृती, परंपरा, कुटुंब, सामाजिक आर्थिक राजकीय परिस्थितीचा परिणाम आहे आणि हा परिणाम आपणास त्यांच्या कृती तून दिसतो. मग ह्याच मुद्याला घेऊन रिसर्च करण्याचे ठरले. पण हा विषय ठरायला खूप वेळ लागल कारण अँडव्हान्स रिसर्च ला योग्य असा विषय असणे गर्गेचे होते. नंतर काही दिवसांच्या अभ्यासानंतर तसेच राहुल आणि मतियाझ या दोघांसोबत झालेल्या चर्चेनंतर मग कल्याण मधील युवकांच्या अक्तीवितीस वर प्रोजेक्ट करण्याचे ठरले. त्याद्वारे आम्हाला युवकांच्या स्वप्नंच, भवितव्याचा वेध घ्यायचं होता. शहर हे शिव जयंती, आंबेडकर जयंती, गुढी पाडवा, गणपती सारख्या सार्वजनिक कार्याक्रमसाठी प्रसिद्ध आहे ज्यात मुख्य म्हणजे युवकांचा जास्त हातभार असतो. तसेच येथे कुस्ती व कब्बडी सारखे खेळ आज खेळले जाऊन त्यांना प्रोत्साहन भेटत आहे. एकदाच्या संस्कृती चा एकदाच्या जीवनाशी खूप संबंध आहे. म्हणे शेवटी हाच विषय घेऊन आम्ही शहराबद्दल व वेग वेगळ्या युवा कृतीन बबड माहिती गोळा कार्यास सुरुवात केली. हा प्रोजेक्ट पूर्ण झाल्या नंतर आम्ही हि माहिती लोकां बरोबर शेअर करण्याकरिता ब्लोग्स बनविण्याचे ठरविले. व शहराच्या इतिहासाबद्दल माहिती गोळा करण्यापासून कामाला सुरुवात झाली. माहिती अधिक चांगली होण्या करिता आम्ही फोटोग्राफी व पर्सनल इंटरव्हू घेणाचे ठरवले. व उशिरा का होयीना पण कामाला सुरुवात झाली.

उपक्रमाची काही ठळक उदीष्ट्ये :

• कल्याण परिसरातील युवकांच्या वेग वेगळ्या गतीविधींचे दस्तयेवजीकरण म्हणजे माहिती संग्रहित करणे.
• खेळ सामाजिक कार्य संस्कृती मनोरंजन करियर शिक्षणाशी संबधित युवा गतिविधींची माहिती संग्रहित करून त्यांचा युवांच्या जीवनाशी असलेला संबंध जाणून घेणे.
• तसेच युवा गतीविधींचा त्यांच्या संस्कृती, परंपरा, कुटुंब, राजकीय व सामजिक वातावरण तसेच इतिहासाशी असालेला संबंध जनेन घेणे.
• युवकांच्या सध्याच्या गतीविधीतून त्यांच्या भवितव्याचा, त्यांच्या स्वप्नांचा व कल्याण सारख्या उपनगरात त्यांना मिळणाऱ्या सेवा सुविधांचा वेध घेणे.

एकुण आम्हाला युवक हे एक मध्यम म्हणून वापरून कल्याण शहराच्या जीवनाचा व येथील सोयी सुविधा तसेच येथील सर्व प्रकारच्या वातावरणाचा अभ्यास करायचा होता व या सगळ्याच युवकांच्या सद्य व भविष्यावर काय परिणाम होऊ शकतो याचा विचार करून ते मांडण्याचा प्रयत्न करायचा होता.

माहिती गोळा करण्याचे माध्यम:

१) वैयक्तिक मुलाखती व प्रश्नावली

आमच्या संशोधन प्रकल्पामध्ये माहिती गोळा करण्याचे योग्य तंत्र कोणते वापरायचे हे एक आव्हान होते कारण या तंत्रा मूळेच नंतर आम्हाला युवकांच्या गतीविधींचा, त्यांच्या परंपरा व संस्कृती व त्यांना मिळणाऱ्या सोयी सुविधांचा आढावा घ्यायचा होता व त्यासाठी योग्य माध्यम असणे गरजेचे होते म्हणून आम्ही खोल माहिती मिळवण्याकरिता पर्सनल मुलाखती घेवून त्यांच्या वयक्तिक गोष्टी जाणून घेतल्या त्य साठी आम्ही त्यांची सर्व्म्हिती मिळवण्याचा पर्यंत केला. या प्रश्नावली बबड माहिती पुढे देत आहोत.

* युवक आपल्या आयुष्यात त्यांचे शिक्षण व काम असे काय करत आहेत ?

* ते कोणत्या गतीविधींमध्ये व्यस्त आहेत ? कुठे आणि का ?

* ते त्यांच्या या आवडी बद्दल काय सांगतात ? या आवडीची सुरुवात कशी झाली ?

* त्यांच्या या आवडी व कृती मागची पाश्वभूमी काय आहे ?

* युवक सध्याच्या कृती मध्ये काही सफलता मिळू शकले का ?

* युवक त्यांच्या भावी आयुष्याबद्दल काय विचार करतात ?

* युवक सध्या ज्या कृतींमध्ये व्यस्त आहेत तेच त्यांचे करियर आहे का ?

* युवकांच्या आशा- आकांशा, त्यांचा एखाद्या गोष्टी मध्ये असलेल्या रस, आवड या मध्ये पालकांची, मित्रांची व समाजाची काय भूमिका असते ?

* युवकांच्या हॉबिस, करियर याला वळण लावण्या करिता कल्याण शहरातील परिस्थिती सेवा-सुविधा यांचा काय परिणाम होतो?

* युवक आपल्या गतीविधी, कृती, हॉबिस यांचा संबंध शहराच्या सामाजिक आर्थिक, राजकीय, शैक्षणिक बाबींशी कसा लावतात व त्याचा परिणाम त्यांच्या सद्य गतिविधींवर व आवडी निवडींवर कसा पडतो ?

* युवक आपल्या आवडी निवडी व गाडीविधीबाबाद किती आवेशपूर्ण आहेत व ते अजून काय माहिती देतात.

२) फोटोग्राफी

दुसरी आणि अधिक महत्व्याची वापरण्यात आलेली पद्धत म्हणजे फोटोग्राफी होय. कारण आमच्या संशोधन पद्धती मध्ये माहिती साठविण्याकरिता व समजण्याकरिता दृश्य माहिती अधिक उपयोगाची होती कारण या मुळे युवकांच्या प्रत्यक्ष गतीविधी लगेच समजत येतात. कल्याण मधील संस्कृती, परंपरा यांच्याशी संबधित माहिती फोटो व व्हिडिओ क्लिप्स मुळे या गोष्टी अधिक मनोरंजक पद्धतीने संग्रहित केल्या जात होत्या म्हणून या प्रकल्प मध्ये शक्य तेवढे फोटो काढण्याच प्रयत्न केला गेला आहे.

उदाहरण साठी महेश भागात चे उदाहरण योग्य वाटते कारण बर्याच लोकांनी कुस्ती बघितलेली नसते ते फक्त ऐकून असतात. त्यामुळे कुस्ती संबंधित माहिती गोळा करताना कुस्ती च्या क्लिप्स असणे व फोटो असणे गरजेचे असते.

३) ग्रुप डिस्कशन :

या संशोधन पद्धतीमुळे आम्हाला अनेक कोलेज ग्रुप्स बबड माहिती गोळा करता आली. ग्रुप चे एकंदरीत अनुभव व विचार संग्रहित करण्यासाठी हि पद्धत महत्वाची आहे.

Kumbhar wada…

Kumbhar wada is a very famous place in kalyan that it is famous making Lord Ganesha in duration of Ganesh Festivals….

Many young people from the Kumbhar wada community are in a business of this Ganpati Murti making…

We visited to Saurabh Kalyankar…who stays it this place and he is in a business of it…

Saurabh is bussy with his education like anyother guy…that he is a second year student of diploma engineering this year…

he belongs to the Kumbhar community and he feels proud about it…
every year his family exports numbers of Ganesh Murti abroad too…

they have an experience of many years and now they have huge business of same..

so far they have also delivered the Ganesh Murti to many famous personalities from media, TV actors and Film Actors and sportsman…

he is very happy with his life and feels proud that many other young people like his in this profession because its not all about the money but about their old and family culture that they are in this field since many generations…

About Group.

A age group of this young people is between 13 to 23…and almost everyone of this group stays in a urban and main part of the Kalyan city. No one is older than 23 years old. Some members are very young and they are in school, Sunny is doing his 12th and waiting for the results. And many members of his group are doing there graduation from the colleges around kalyan, some people are working, some people are completing their education by distance education and working part time/full time too. Some people are doing career oriented courses. Overall we found that they are not just influenced by anything, they knows their responsibilities as well. But no one can ignore one this, is that when they starts dancing and performs their stunts, they looks like professional dancers of hip hop and break boying. They have a big group but that day we could not meet everyone that everyone was not present at that day.

About hip-hop and Break-boying…

Hip-Hop and Break-Boying are two forms of Western Dance basically came from western countries. Its craze is increasing day by day in youth and children in cities basically but today a r each out of every media is everywhere in villages too that it is not barrier today that you stays in urban or rural areas. Its seems like modern forms of dancing that it consists of many amazing dancing stunts, different and creative wearing of costumes and rocking and latest styles. Boys basically like this dance forms but girls too like it.

A background:

Actually we never thought that Dance forms like hip hop and B-boying and their groups would be actually present in a small city like Kalyan. Because when we met Sandesh and his dance group we thought a youth from Kalyan may be basically interested in cultural dances types. But we were wrong that we met a very passionate dance group of hip-hop and b-boying which are advanced and western dances leaded by Sunny Chouhan.

Initially when we got information about this group, we decided to meet them. We knew that this group comes in evening time on “Subhash Maidan’(A Play-Groung in Kalyan) to just do a practice of hip hop. Then we went on this play ground and we saw that this group is busy in practice of their dance style and stunts. So we just waited for some time and watched while they playing with their amazing dancing stunts. And we really surprised by them that they are just doing very nice job with real passion and interest. This group comes always so that people were not so much surprises by them that people around them was just watching them as they watches their stunts always. We also watched them many times before but we never observed them and their activities seriously. We thought that this people are just doing a time pass in friends group. But we were wrong that this people were trying to achieve something with their main hobbies. In evening many senior citizens come to hang out over this ground they were also watching their stunts and were enjoying it. For more than half and hour we watched them and after we went to meet them all there. As usual they asked us that why we are interested to know about them? Then we gave them information about our research projects, then they gave us a information and we got expected information from them. Sunny who have started this group, was very frank and giving us honest answers.

Story behind this activity and how they started…

We started communicating with them as normal discussion about their hobbies then they also felt a comfortable with us. Sunny and his Friend group were coming almost every day on this play ground to just hang out over there. They were watching a many dance shows on TV that they were influence by the western dances styles like hip hop and Break-boying. And just as a curiosity and interest, they started trying some dance stunts of hip hop and Break-boying by watching and learning through TV, Internet and Video clips. Day by day their hobby increased and today it became their main hobby and part of their daily stuffs. Sunny and his group says that they feel something missing if they didn’t did a practice of stunts for one single day. Slowly-slowly group also increased some young people joined their group as hobby, some joined to learned dancing stunts, some people thought that they can and they wish to do their career in dance so they joined. Overall a same thinking people came together and form a group as it is today. For them this dance part is a important part of their life today. They also accept the fact that they are not coming from the rich families but their passion is true. As any other youth they are also facing many challenges but they are ready to face any kind of challenges. Their parents are also supportive but they are also worried about their future as any other parents. But this people are also so serious about their future. They are taking this all as their hobby first and are busy with their education, job etc. they would like to achieve and build their career in dancing but we found this group very matured that they accepts a competition in dancing career. But if they got opportunity they will utilize it sure. this people don’t believes in reality show that they believes that this all new coming dancing competition are just a drama and nothing else. Before some days they went for the competition in Boogi Woogi which is the famous dance competition on Sony TV which is a part of their big achievements which encourages them always to keep this journey continue ahead.

Connections and Relations with community of Kalyan…

they commented that may be they will not achieve too much success in this field but still they are happy with their present success and group because it is very difficult to do something different that they stays in a small city like kalyan where young people today don’t gets many opportunities in small cities. That why they feel proud that they are doing something different in their life. According to them kalyan is not so much developed city who can provide them a platform and opportunities like Mumbai. it has to be still developed, means community from this city would easily accepts a things related to their culture and life but very less response will come for a dance style like hip hop and break boying. So its supportive class is different and presents in less number in kalyan. But city is developing very fast and they believes that prospective of a community of kalyan will change soon towards western dance styles.

Some more points…

By watching them today, many other groups are also forming their own group and wishing a dream to become a dancer of a dance forms like hip-hop and break-boying.

Hip-hop and beak-boying dances together but this are two different forms of dance. hip hop is a stylist dance but break boying consists of many dancing stunts. We thought this is same kind of dance.

Event in N.K.T.T. College…

Event in N.K.T.T.,THANE.

According to our planning …this is the first event of YUVA- Inter college street play festival……

In this event we invited many people in which Aditi Punj, Ashok Rathod were our special guests…..

we started this program with “deep prajvalan”….that time Principle and trustees were present…..

then we move to speeches… Our special guests guided students and tried to spread awareness about HIV-AIDS in students….because topic for street play was HIV-AIDS….

then Aditi and Ashok inspired young people about our work…..and they gave information to students about Youth Venture India…..and our work….

and finally competition began….we saw…..very beautiful performance by six college groups….and they used Street play as a creative medium for spreading awareness amongst young people about HIV-AIDS…..

It was great experience for us because…..we tried to know more about groups and we found that really they have collected enough knowledge about HIV AIDS…..that they are aware about this issue very well …and being a part of this festival was just medium….to do this all…..

In this competition we selected two groups as a final winners of this competition and we are forwarding them for final round …where this people will present street plays on National Unity….

Hi….friend….recently we visited a sapad to talk with Mahesh there…..

I do a bussines…..and interested in my families farming bussiness…..will do it …forever…..

and kusti is like aextra curriculr activiaties for me…..we are preventing our culture in our community…..

:…i am 19 years old….stays in kalayn East….and doing my HSC from Birla college in kalyan….my hobbies are playing cricket…kabbadi etc…i like kabbadi most….i stays with my family…my brother too like playing kabbadi….

:…..i plays and takes part in almost every local competition with my group in kalyan…

so far i have played from Thane team and i am captain of this ream…played in state level too….and almost i was best in every competition….so far i have won many man of the match awards….and series….

:…i am interested to make my carrier in kabbadi….i will always be plying kabbadi….where i will be ..it is does’nt matter….

may be i will get a job in government ..because of my performance in kabbadi…..

In city like kalyn……there is very few opportunities of making a carrier in sports….but in kalyan we can make our carrier in kabbadi…..because it is some thing like a culture of kalyan….here young poeple and youth like and they are passionate about kabbadi….

What is your personal opinion about kabbadi…?

:….i htink kabbadi teaches us life skills though game…..same like game …we always   faces…challenges in our life…..where we need to face them by using strategies…and our skills…..kabbadi teaches us…..life in real world….

hi friends….just to say….that just we mate…

Hemant Chiplunkar….

A 20 year old boy in kalyan …..

we got very interesting info about him..that he is too much passionate about Drama….so we decided to meet him….

we went his home….he stay in chawl….in kalyan east…..with his family….he have two brothers and stays with his parents….

His parents are both working….his mother do bussiness and father is working in one private office…..

He is a student of S.Y.B. com…and studing in Samyan sankalp college in kalyan….

lets know more what he says about his passion of Drams….

We : so hemant…tell me some things about your hobbies of drama….

Hemant….: I really like watching Drama’s in theatres…i always goes to watch it….i like commedy and both social message related dramas….i thing i have a art of praforming drama….so i started with participating in street plays in my college….and doing it as my extra curricular activities….

Ok…hemant..tell us what you are doing currently…

Hemant..: Right now i have got a opportunity to praform as actor in one commercial play in kalyan with a help of Drama association in kalyan ….and i think it can be good start for me…played a small role in one film too….

do you see Drama as you carrier….?

Hemant..: …Yes….but there is too much competition in this sector…..so i am not so serious about it….it is just start…..lets see what happenes in my life…i will give my hundred percent….

What your friends think about your this hobbie…?

Hemant..: they are happy…means it is very hard to do some thing like drama in our community…like kalyan …where people gets very few chances to make carrier in Arts…..

event in sonawane college

hi…friends….

sharing here some info about our event in sonawanw college in kalyan….

Here we conducted one inter college level street play competition….on HIV AIDS….

All the participants were a students of NSS…..this students took decision that they wants to spread awareness in their college about HIV AIDS….and they thought that Steet play is god medium for spreading awareness in their college…

In this event all NS volinters were present….same a Principle of the college and NSS coordinators were present there….

We found that a NSS group of this college is very active in social activities…they always take part in awareness activities in their college as well as outside of their college…..

We got nice responce from media too….some local media like Janmat warta were there to attend event and cover in press media….

Event in shiwale college…

Hi….all of you…..

when we started YAAR….we aims to provide a platform for such college students who lacks extra curricular activities in their college life….

and this event was really too much important for me because….we conducted first time a big event for rural area colleges….on 28 december….2009

we conducted this event in Shivale college which come in Murbad….( a rural area near kalyan…)

and we got really very nice response from them…..eight colleges were present….for participate in street play festival…where topic for street play was HIV-AIDS…..

so this is biggest achievement for YAAR this year….
